DONATE TO FULTON HOMES ‘STUFF THE BUS’ TO HELP CHILDREN IN NEED
School supply drive will benefit children in four high-need local schools

WHAT:   School Supply Drive
Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW) is calling for donations of new school supplies for the Fulton Homes Stuff the Bus for Kids in Need promotion taking place inside Chandler Fashion Center Mall July 5 through August 7. Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW), Fulton Homes and 99.9 KEZ have partnered for this drive to help ensure children in Maricopa County start school ready to learn and succeed.

Donation ideas: backpacks, binders, notebooks, pencils, pens, craft supplies, picture books, student uniforms, kids clothing and shoes. For more donation ideas, visit www.vsuw.org/stb.

Proceeds from the Fulton Homes Stuff the Bus for Kids in Need drive will benefit students at Bethune, Dunbar, Galveston and Lowell elementary schools, as well as Improving Chandler Area Neighborhoods (ICAN), all partners in United Way’s work to Ensure that Children and Youth Succeed.

WHEN:   July 5 through Aug. 7; donations accepted 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

School bus located at southeast end of mall on lower level near Macy’s.

WHY: According to recent census figures, 21 percent of Arizonans live in poverty; that is nearly 1 in 5 individuals. Many are struggling to meet their basic needs and resources are scarce to buy other essentials, like the school supplies that every child needs for the new school year.

Ensuring that children and youth succeed is one of Valley of the Sun United Way’s key community goals and providing children with essential school supplies is vital to their success.
